The Opportunity… DYS is seeking a Program Administrator 2 (Facility Intervention Administrator) to monitor facility program areas.
Specifically, the FIA will: Act for the Superintendent and with the Direct Deputy Superintendent by implementing & monitoring DYS state-wide policy related to facility security program areas (e.
g.
, use of force, investigations, etc.
) for CJCF: serves as liaison between Superintendent/Direct Deputy Superintendent/Facility OA & facility staff & represents Superintendent in all areas related to use of force & related security issues.
Reviews all facility use of force incidents & responds in accordance with policy & procedure; serves as liaison between Superintendent & Central Office (CO).
Developing, implementing & monitoring use of force and related security issues state-wide; conducts related training programs (e.
g.
use of force, planned use of force, incident reporting, investigations, use of force prevention, etc.
); serves as primary contact for all facility issues related to use of force, investigations, & related security program areas; serves as facility use of force instructor and will receive use of force instructor certification within first year in this position.
Advises &/or represents the Superintendent as needed for all issues related to use of force & facility security; represents superintendent &/or a facility at investigations, disciplinary proceedings, etc.
regarding use of force incidents; conducts investigation of use of force incidents; reviews & monitors tapes involving use of force for proper &/or improper use of force incidents; advises Superintendent, Direct Deputy Superintendent, Facility Operations Managers & CO Facility Resource Administrator accordingly & follows up in accordance with policy & procedures; submits video to CO Administrator, Facility Operations Administrator & Unit Manager Administrator for use in employee training to demonstrate excellent responses to incidents as well as incorrect responses to incidents & use of force.
Analyzes use of force statistics/reports for facility to demonstrate trends & responds according to policy & procedures.
Collects, creates & records data relevant to the UOF & related operational activities.
Monitors the quality & accuracy of UOF & related data in various databases & reports to ensure uniformity.
Conducts internal audits of data as required.
Represents Superintendent at meetings, conferences, etc.
serves as technical advisor to Superintendent & managers/administrative staff on use of force & related facility security issues; attends/speaks at training programs, meetings, conferences, etc.

Qualifications Completion of undergraduate core program in social or behavioral science, pre-medicine or public or business administration or accounting; 18 mos.

Ability to deal with many variables & determine specific action; prepare & deliver speeches before specialized audiences; establish professional atmosphere as administrator; handle sensitive inquiries from & contacts with officials & general public.
