*Position:* Deputy Clerk, Auditor’s Office (Unclassified)
Full-Time (40 hours per week, Monday to Friday, typically 7:30 am to 4 pm)
*Key Responsibilities:*
* *Customer Service Excellence*: Demonstrate a commitment to delivering high-level customer service, both in-person, via phone, and email interactions.
Assist customers with inquiries, provide information, and resolve issues promptly and courteously.
* *Financial Transactions*: Conduct accurate financial transactions, including handling cash, balancing accounts, and processing deeds and tax documents.
Utilize strong mathematical skills to perform calculations and make change at the service counter.
* *Record-Keeping and Filing*: Maintain meticulous records and files, adhering to established bookkeeping procedures.
File documents daily either electronically or manually to the filing systems, ensuring organization and accessibility.
* *Collaborative Teamwork*: Collaborate effectively with colleagues to achieve office objectives and support team initiatives.
Communicate openly and work cooperatively to accomplish shared goals and tasks.
* *Administrative Support*: Prepare various reports, correspondence, and documents vital to the functions of the Auditor’s Office.
Utilize Microsoft Office Suite applications, particularly Excel, to create and manage documents with accuracy and efficiency.
Provide general administrative support, including things such as scheduling, filing, copying, organizing, and coordinating meetings or events as needed.
* *Compliance:* Stay informed about changes in regulations, policies, and compliance standards.
Ensure that all financial activities adhere to established laws and regulations.
Be cognizant regarding deadlines and ensure all tasks are completed timely.
*Minimum Qualifications and Competencies:*
* High School Diploma or Equivalent; additional education in accounting, finance, real estate, or related fields is a plus.
* At least 2 years of proven administrative experience, preferably in a financial or government setting.
* Ability to add, subtract, multiply, divide, etc.
including the ability to make change with money.
* Proficiency with modern office equipment, fluency with Microsoft Office Suit, especially Microsoft Excel.
Have the ability to quickly grasp new software applications, especially accounting software.
* Exceptional communication skills, both written and verbal
* Strong time management abilities, with a keen attention to detail.
Adaptable to change and eager to learn and grow in the role.
* Ability to work effectively under pressure and meet tight deadlines.
* Excellent problem-solving skills and the capacity to navigate complex information.
* Ability to work collaboratively in a team-oriented environment.
* Understanding of regulations and compliance standards.
* Demonstrated commitment to confidentiality and ethical conduct.
* Ability to sit for extended periods and perform tasks on a computer, with occasional standing and mobility required for tasks such as filing and retrieving documents.
Proficient manual dexterity, coordination, and ability to perform repetitive motions for operating office equipment, typing, and handling paperwork.
* Clear and accurate vision, including the ability to view a computer screen and read printed materials.
Capability to communicate with colleagues and members of the public in a clear and professional manner.
* Capability to lift and carry up to 35 pounds occasionally, 5-10 pounds repetitively.
* Occasional travel may be required for training or special assignments.
