POSITION PURPOSE: Supervises planning personnel, including staffing and performance management.
Oversees all planning activities, while being responsible for coordinating work processes with craft personnel, Work Control, engineering, suppliers, Line Management, and vendor technical support.
Additionally, aids in electrical and mechanical planning activities.
Demonstrates a personal commitment to safety and quality.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES: Provides direct oversight for all planning activities.
Demonstrates the ability to communicate with management, crafts, and clients to ensure thorough understanding of job requirements.
Works with Electrical AHJ on electrical modifications for compliance.
Performs planning, estimating, and work package development for extensive technical projects, including IDIQ projects.
Performs Lockout/Tag-out Issuing Authority duties.
Performs Preventive Maintenance program management.
Assists with coordination and scheduling of work activities.
Ensures the Work Control process is followed and flows within the organization.
Ensures modified drawings are properly redlined and submitted when required.
Supervises planning personnel, including staffing and performance management.
Assists with ordering materials and entering requisitions for vendor services.
Provides oversight work in the field for work package preparation and adherence.
Ensures that planning personnel follow all safety and security policies/procedures.
Inspects cranes, Hoisting & Rigging equipment/hardware, and other equipment as needed.
Maintains a safe working environment.
Demonstrates the ability to get along with coworkers, customers and visitors.
Ensures safety and health of employees during work tasks, utilizing good work practices and following procedures and protocols.
Demonstrates a personal commitment to safety and quality.
ADDITIONAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES: Performs I & E / Mechanical planning as needed.
Develops and implements detailed job instructions as needed.
Works as relief supervisor for maintenance organization as needed.
Demonstrates awareness and implementation of applicable environmental, safety, and health (ES&H) requirements while also alerting co-workers of such requirements as needed.
Performs other duties as assigned.
Safety Responsibilities Keep work area in order and free of hazards.
Perform work within the controls identified and stop work when an unsafe work condition exists.
Participate in safety programs and initiatives.
Report all injuries.
Participate in work planning so that hazards are identified and appropriate corrective actions are taken.
Ensures that ISMS flows within the planning and Work Control process.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS: Education and Experience Requires a minimum Associate's degree in an electrical/mechanical field or equivalent to 5 years electrical/mechanical experience, including two to four years in a supervisory or lead role.
Must be trained in NFPA 70E requirements.
Must have knowledge of hoisting and rigging practices.
Capable of reading blue-print and schematic drawings.
Must have working knowledge of computer maintenance management system, preferably SOMAX.
Skills and Abilities Language Skills Ability to read and interpret documents such as operating and maintenance instruction and procedure manuals.
Ability to write routine and non-routine reports and correspondence.
Ability to speak effectively before groups of customers or employees.
Mathematics Skills Ability to make mathematical calculations with reasonable speed and accuracy.
Reasoning Ability Ability to define problems, collect data, establish facts and draw valid conclusions.
Ability to interpret a variety of instructions and deal with abstract and concrete variables.
Other Skills/Abilities Ability to operate a calculator, office copier/scanner, fax, telephone and computer are required.
Special Requirements: Must be able to obtain and maintain a DOE “L” clearance.
PHYSICAL DEMANDS: While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to talk or hear.
The employee is required to sit for part of the day.
The employee is frequently required to stand, walk, reach with hands and arms, climb or balance, stoop, kneel, crouch or crawl, and drive.
The employee may regularly lift and/or move up to 25 pounds and occasionally lift and/or move up to 50 pounds.
Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, depth perception and the ability to adjust focus.
Manual dexterity abilities required include operating machinery and equipment.
WORKING ENVIRONMENT: Works in typical office environment.
The noise level in the work environment is usually quiet.
May occasionally work in other environments, including outside, where noise levels and weather conditions may vary.
