Job Summary At Richelieu Foods we make Great Food from Great People.
We are looking for an experienced Human Resources Generalist who is comfortable driving transformation while reinforcing a culture of support and development.
The Human Resources Generalist will report directly to the Senior HR Manager with a dotted line to the Plant Manager and Manufacturing Manager.
Essential Functions This position requires strong attention to detail and multi-tasking abilities and will be required to assist with the continuous change and growth of our business.
This position requires a high level of daily customer service with both internal and external customers.
Supports the Plant Leadership Team, on action plans to drive business performance results and a performance driven culture.
This would include workforce planning, retention, and training.
Supports safety management related activities and safety training.
Provides advice and counsel to Managers and Supervisors on employee relations matters that are consistent with company policy and legal compliance.
Investigates and resolves employee relations issues.
Assist in driving core HR processes and tools including labor requirements, training needs, and strategies to reduce employee turnover and improve the employee experience.
Administers and supports various human resources programs including annual open enrollment, performance management and employee recognition programs.
Analyzes performance metrics (i.
e.
turnover, conversions, weekly overtime, engagement, safety etc.
) draws insights from data, assists in developing action plans to improve.
Works closely with management and employees to improve working relationships, build morale, increase productivity and retention.
Collaborates with temporary agencies, supervisors, and the talent acquisition team to ensure optimum staffing levels.
Generate payroll files for staffing partners weekly.
Manages plant recruitment efforts for non-exempt / hourly employees.
Provides exceptional new hire on-boarding experience and conducts orientation.
Responsible for company compliance with federal state and local laws pertaining to all personnel matters.
Assists with all aspects of Labor Law Compliance, including FMLA, ADA, FLSA, OSHA, and EEOC Strong in-depth knowledge of legal requirements related to day-to-day management of employees, reducing legal risks, and ensuring regulatory compliance.
Manages Workers Compensation protocols, administration, and OSHA reporting.
Performs other duties as assigned.
Essential Skills and Abilities Bachelor’s degree in human resource management or related field.
PHR/SPHR certification desired.
Intermediate to advanced proficiency with Microsoft Office – Word, Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint Ability to handle multiple tasks with the ability to prioritize.
Ability to review and analyze business reports.
Must be self- directed and be able to work independently.
Experience 5 years of progressive HR experience Food manufacturing experience desired.
Knowledge of Labor Laws related to Human Resources functions.
Experience with Paycom HRIS and ATS desired.
Previous Payroll experience desired.
Competencies Ability to always maintain confidentiality.
Strong oral communication and language skills to establish and maintain business relationships.
Developing and maintaining constructive and cooperative working relationships with others, encouraging, and building mutual trust, respect, and cooperation among team members.
Able to identify and resolve problems in a timely manner.
Ability to gather and analyze information.
Work Environment This job operates in a professional office environment.
This role routinely uses standard office equipment such as computers, phones, photocopiers, and filing cabinets.
This is largely a sedentary role; however, some filing is required.
This would require the ability to lift files, open filing cabinets and bend or stand as necessary.
