Phlebotomist - PT
Organization: Highland District Hospital
Hours: Part-Time (40 hours per pay)
Position Summary: The Phlebotomist will draw blood and receive or obtain various specimens for laboratory analysis.
The position requires that specimens be obtained from neonatal, pediatric, adolescent, adult, geriatric and disabled individuals.
He/she answers incoming phone calls and interacts continuously with outpatients, emergency room patients and inpatients.
He/she will frequently communicate results to physicians, patients and other allied health professionals.
He/she reviews printed copies, making them available to various locations and persons.
Job Duties:
Performs venipuncture and capillary procedures, enters patient information and patient results into the laboratory information system.
Must be familiar with laboratory terminology and results.
Be knowledgeable of safety standards and practices as mandated by OSHA, CLIA, TJC, CAP.
Supports Highland District Hospital’s mission to serve the community by providing accessible, efficient, quality health care in an atmosphere of compassion and excellence.
Participates in continuing education programs and demonstrate a consistent, reliable attendance pattern.
All other duties as assigned.
Must have HS diploma and successful completion of phlebotomy training program.
