The Registry Eligible Respiratory Care Practitioner provides respiratory pharmacologic, diagnostic, and therapeutic modalities to all age groups.
The Registry Eligible Respiratory Care Practitioner provides direct patient care and works collaboratively with other care team members, the physician, and the patient/family to achieve optimal patient outcomes.
The practitioner has access to the confidential patient information and makes decisions independently and in collaboration with other team members, managers, and physicians.
The individual works under the indirect supervision of the Respiratory Care Supervisor.
Job duties & Responsibilities:
Respiratory Care provider carries out physician orders according to protocols, best practices, and respiratory care policies
Patient assessment involving the evaluation of cardiopulmonary function and treatment effectiveness, to contribute to the development and ongoing evaluation of a multidisciplinary plan of care.
Accurate documentation- recording and communication of patient assessment findings, treatments effectiveness and outcomes.
Management and evaluation of critical/hazardous procedures in collaboration with other licensed health care professionals
Administering medications for the testing or treatment of cardiopulmonary impairment.
Cardiac monitoring testing with recognition of arrhythmia's
Interventions with patients/families of all age groups: neonate, infant, child, adolescent, adult, and geriatrics.
Liaison between patient, physicians and other health care providers to assist in discharge planning and all education needs.
Education:
Associate degree in Respiratory Therapy
Graduate of an American Medical Association (AMA) approved program for Respiratory Therapy
Certifications:
Licensed by the State of Ohio.
Certified by the National Board for Respiratory care (NBRC) and registry eligible
Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS)
Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS)
Basic Electrocardiogram (ECG) interpretation
Experience:
One year experience in routine respiratory care therapeutic/ pharmacology, including, critical care, and emergency procedures.
