Adult Nurse Practitioner, Gynecology
Department: Highland Health Providers Corporation
Reports To: Medical Director, Executive Director
Position Summary:
Responsible for performing physical assessments, diagnosis, and treatment of patients.
Makes referrals for medical evaluations as needed and performs follow up on patient’s test results.
Position Accountabilities: Provides comprehensive medical services for patients, regardless of age or sex, on continuing basis: Examines patients, using medical instruments and equipment.
Elicits and records information about patient’s medical history.
Orders or executes various tests, analyses, and diagnostic images to provide information on patient’s condition.
Analyzes reports and findings of tests and examination, and diagnoses condition of patient.
Administers or prescribes treatments and medications.
Promotes health by advising patients concerning diet, hygiene, and methods for prevention of disease.
Vaccinates patients to immunize from communicable diseases.
Provides referrals for medical evaluations and performs follow-up on laboratory test and evaluation results.
Assures that high quality physical healthcare services are delivered to patients.
Assures compliance with company policies and procedures, quality assurance standards and physical medicine standards of care.
Participates in continuing medical education appropriate to Highland Health Provider’s practice, and in quantity sufficient to meet requirement for continued professional licensure and board certification.
Completes required documentation on a timely basis.
Attends office, committee, and Medical Staff meetings as assigned/applicable.
Takes a proactive approach to problem solving, identifying issues, taking action and tackles the difficult issues.
Utilizing teamwork and innovation, looks beyond the obvious and doesn’t stop at first answers when problem solving, communicates the proposed solution in a concise manner.
Manages multiple activities to accomplish a goal; demonstrates high attention to detail; and uses resources effectively and efficiently.
Accepts all other duties and responsibilities as appropriate to skill level and as assigned.
Required Qualifications: Education: Advanced Practice Nursing Licensure in the State of Ohio Licensure/Certification: Ohio License DEA Certificate BLS certified Board certified Provider is responsible for maintaining individual certifications as required by job function or by law and provide verification and recertification when requested by management.
Potential Exposure: Electrical Equipment Body Fluids Mechanical Equipment Chemicals Exposure to Infectious Disease Other-Combative Patients Blood Contact Uses Universal Precautions when tasks being performed present the possibility of exposure to blood or body fluids; this includes using appropriate personal protective equipment and work practices.
Physical Demands: Requires full range of body motion including handling and lifting patients, manual dexterity, and eye coordination.
Work may require standing, walking or sitting for long periods of time; also stooping, bending, walking and stretching during patient care.
Occasionally lifting equipment or assisting with supporting patients up to 50 pounds.
Required manual dexterity sufficient to operate a keyboard, mouse, telephone and medical equipment including point of care testing equipment and medical instruments.
Requires vision and hearing corrected to normal range.
Intermediate level computer skills are required.
It is necessary to view and type on computer screens for long periods and to work in a fast-paced environment.
The position requires the successful completion of a medical examination after offer of hire has been made.
The position requires the employee to be free of all unlawful substances and alcohol.
The position requires successful completion of a background check including (but not limited to) education, employment, driving, credit, and criminal history records.
Work Environment: Office environment.
Occasional unpleasant and/or stressful work-related situations.
Leader in emergency crisis situations.
