Job Description
Role
Supervise and direct operations of the Coating & Converting Department including rewinders, slitters, an off-line coater, sheeters, roll wrapping lines, and packaging.
Manufacture quality products while optimizing all aspects of efficiency and profitability.
This position supervises approximately 58 hourly employees on a given shift.
Accountabilities
Supervise, on the assigned shift, the timely and economical production in accordance with established quality standards and customer specifications:
Maintain the established standards of safety and good housekeeping ensuring a safe work environment;
Supervise the effective training of people, assigning work, counseling, appraising, transferring, and providing disciplinary action, as necessary within provisions of formal agreements between management and recognized employee bargaining unit;
Troubleshoot operations and ensure timely resolution of issues including assignment of maintenance resources;
Inspect operations, assuring equipment is in proper operating condition, and established production standards are satisfied;
Monitoring and adjusting operations to satisfy customer expectations;
Willingness to work diverse hours; Currently a modified 8-hour schedule (which is subject to change), including working holidays and weekends;
Participate in team efforts to achieve mill-wide goals.
Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree or equivalent in supervisory experience/education;
Possess leadership skills including the ability to communicate a direction and expectations, to lead by example, recognize exceptional performance, deal with non-performance, and understand when and how to involve people correctly;
Self starter and motivated;
Experience in manufacturing environment;
Demonstrate pro-active skills in problem identification and developing solutions;
Detail oriented and good decision making skills;
Solid computer skills and ability to learn new programs associated with the operation.
Knowledge of SAP and OptiVISION systems, a plus;
