Requisition Summary
This role will serve as the plant champion for Built In Quality within the lean model of the PACCAR Production System (PPS).
The successful candidate will lead efforts throughout Operations to deploy, maintain, and improve lean manufacturing principles to improve overall quality.
Job Functions / Responsibilities
Plant Champion for the Built-In Quality pillar of the PACCAR Production System (PPS) lean manufacturing model.
This includes Customer Focus, Defect Prevention, Defect Detection, and the Response Process.
Act as a duty expert, trainer, and mentor for Built-In Quality throughout Operations
Provide guidance to management on PPS deployment roadmap and next steps.
Maintain and strengthen the response process throughout Operations
Analyze quality data to select and facilitate quality improvement projects.
Responsible for leading projects focused on quality improvements.
Support efforts to strengthen a continuous improvement culture, common manufacturing systems, and operational best practices.
Ensure that a team of involved people work effectively to develop solutions to quality concerns.
Conduct internal auditing and establish gap closure plans.
Direct supervisor of a team of Quality Coordinators and a Dimensional Engineer
May perform other duties as assigned
Qualifications
QUALIFICATIONS DESIRED:
• Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Manufacturing Engineering, Business Administration or a related discipline required.
MBA or advanced degree is highly desirable
• Five years of experience in the direct practice and implementation of Lean Manufacturing techniques.
• Project management experience.
• Black Belt certification.
• Three years of managerial experience.
• Ability to handle multiple tasks, take initiative, and be a team player and problem solver.
• Ability to effectively communicate technical topics; written and verbal, to a variety of audiences.
• Project management experience.
• Strong coach, teacher, and mentor.
• Strong technical skills in process and product.
• Proven ability to work in a self-directed environment.
• Detailed understanding of engineering specifications and dimensional analysis
PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS: Must meet physical requirements of the job with or without accommodations.
Education
Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Manufacturing Engineering, Business Administration or a related discipline required.
MBA or advanced degree is highly desirable
